| Fr. Campo (usually known as "Fr. Joe") was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY. He attended high school in Manhattan and college in Queens, NY. He studied for the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church in Rome, Italy, and was ordained in June of 1975. Fr. Joe has served as both a parish priest and as a canon lawyer until his resignation in 1997. In 1998, he married JoAnne Crocitto. After attending the Episcopal Church for a few years, both Fr. Joe and JoAnne were received into the Episcopal Church in 2000. Once again experiencing a call to the ordained ministry, he entered the "Discernment Process" on both the parish and diocesan level. This process last about two years. After completing a further year of Anglican Studies at The General Theological Seminary in New York, he was "received" as an Episcopal priest in 2003. Fr. Joe came to St. Andrews as "priest-in-charge" in July of 2006 after having spent three years as the associate priest at Grace Church in White Plains, NY. He comes with a love of preaching, teaching and ministry to the sick. He hopes to use "learned organizational skills" from the "legal world" in assisting the St. Andrew's community on its journey back to both spiritual and fiscal wholeness. Fr. Joe is an avid reader of both theological texts as well as tightly plotted murder mysteries. An avid sports fan, his relaxtion, if it can be found, usually centers upon New York's "other baseball team" - New York Mets. While preaching and celebration of the sacraments are the center of his spiritual life, cheering for what has been the underdog New York team is his center for passion and fun! |
